Dear Friends,
Allow me to welcome you to the Resurrection Greek Orthodox
Church 41st annual Greek Festival.
This year’s festival will immerse you in our rich Hellenic Culture,
rich/savory Greek cuisine and show you our Precious Orthodox Faith, which is the
very foundation of our lives.
The word "Orthodox" means "right faith",
and the expression of that faith. Today, there are approximately 250-300
million Greek Orthodox Christians in the world. Although, the Church is called
"Greek" Orthodox, the parishioners are not all of Greek descent. As all parishioners of the Roman Catholic
Church are not Roman. Our Church always
welcomes those from other religious backgrounds to experience our Divine
Liturgy and participate in communal worship.
The closing ceremonies of the 2004 Olympic Games offered the
entire world a beautiful expression of our Hellenic Culture. The hilarious movie “My Big Fat Greek
Wedding” warmly opened people’s eyes to the idiosyncrasies of Greek people,
culture and family lifestyle. As you enter our Greek Festival please take the
opportunity to experience little pieces of our heritage and don’t miss the
opportunity to take a tour of our Church Facility, it will be worth your
while.
Thank you again for participating in our Greek Festival. Enjoy the experience and may God bless you
and yours.
Respectfully,
Father Michael Prevas
